We bought two of these for our 1 year old twins, they liked it from the beginning although they could not ride it right away. They first learned how to climb on it, then to ride it bacwards, and now (at 16 months) they are learning to push forward. They like doggies faces and ears and frequently hug and pet them, and they enjoy riding on them as well. The toy is sturdy enough, easy to assemble, cute, and most important non-toxic.
