Designed by Sergio Calatroni in 1988, the Papiro Lamp is now considered a small icon of contemporary design. Directable, flowing, and immediately recognizable thanks to its organic and sculpture-like presence, Papiro is available in the following finish options: glossy black nickel, pearly gold, copper, and nickel. It also comes in two sizes: 87" or 106" height.

Sergio Calatroni was born in Pavia in 1951. He lives and works in Milan. He attended the Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera in Milan, specializing in set design. Since 1975 he has worked in the field of architecture, industrial design, interior design, graphics, corporate image, creative direction, communications and journalism. He is one of the founders of the Zeus group, establishing the Zeus Art Galleries in Milan and New York. He also founded the publishing house Afro City Editions Milan, for theoretical research on architecture, design and art. His works have been exhibited in major museums in Italy and abroad.

From 1996 to 1998 Sergio Calatroni was a visiting professor of Museum Design at Tokyo University. He has also been a professor of Architecture at the European Design Institute in Milan. From 1998 to 2000 he was the art director of the 13 licency product of The National Trust, Japan. He has conducted many conferences and lectures in Italy and abroad. Since 2000 he has been the creative director of stephanemarais / Shiseido, Paris. In 2003 he received the "Good Design Award" and the "Category's Award" of the Japanese Ministry of Commerce for the stephanemarais / Shiseido creative direction and packaging and the prestigious "2003 London International Advertising Awards (LIAA)" for the stephanemarais / Shiseido creative direction and packaging. He works with many leading magazines of architecture, design, art and fashion, in Italy and abroad. His work - the colours, the graphics, the interior styling - has been an inspiration to many.

Truck Freight Additional Information:

This product is too heavy/large to ship via the small package delivery services (e.g. UPS, FedEx) so it will be sent to you via truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the back of the truck into your house (or wherever it's going).

The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.
