This pendant explores the notion of weaving light. The design of the Joiin Suspension Pendant is composed of a series of curved surfaces that couple together to shade its energy-saving fluorescent light source. Up to three lampshades may be connected, allowing their surfaces to interact, folding like a ribbon of light. The textile covering the shade is finely coated with tiny glass beads, allowing the lamp to catch attention even when switched off by reflecting the light sources from the environment. Joiin is available in white or silver/grey.

Susanne Philippson graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven NL. Prior to that, she studied Foundational Studies of Art and Design at London Guildhall University, and then Furniture and Product Design at Ravensbourne College, London. She has conducted internships at HABITAT design office in London, BLESS in Berlin, and MUJI design office in Tokyo. Since 2000, she has had a number of exhibitions scattered across Europe. Her notable design products include the Compact Home Office Desk for Habitat, the Cherrystone Shirt for the DROOG Design Foundation Collection, and the Guardian Light and Joiin Lamp for Pallucco.

Pallucco:
